Originally from the United States, Joshua Watts received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University and Master of Fine Arts at the University of South Dakota, with a concentration in Printmaking. His work has been featured in over 60 group and solo exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including venues in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Venice, Malaysia, and Dubai.

He has also maintained an active visiting artist workshop and lecture schedule throughout the years, bringing his studio expertise to students at universities and institutions including: University of Buffalo (NY), Grandview College (IA), University of Alaska, Anchorage (AK), University of Sioux Falls (SD), Bradley University (IL), George Mason University (DC), East Carolina University (NC), Tashkeel Studios (UAE), and Sikka Art Fair (UAE). Each visit demonstrates different aspects of professional studio practice to participants, encouraging them to integrate techniques shown into their own body of creative works.

Since 2008, Joshua Watts has been an Assistant Professor of Visual Arts at Zayed University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Teaching a variety of courses in printmaking, drawing, mixed media, and book structures, the sustained development of his own work continues while promoting the aesthetic, conceptual, and expressive growth of students in his courses and workshops.
